After a very unsuccessful season in the VCS Winter 2021, SBTC Esports made significant changes to their roster. In fact, these changes have shown a certain level of effectiveness. During the SEA Games 31 qualifiers for League of Legends, there were moments when SE made their fans believe that the team would represent Vietnam at the event to be held in Hanoi this May. SE even managed to defeat GAM Esports – a rival they had never beaten before – twice.

But the impressions made during the SEA Games 31 qualifiers ultimately faded away. The semifinal match against GAM exposed SE’s true face in the 2022 Spring season: weak and stagnant. GAM’s absolute victory left many puzzled as to how SE managed to defeat the VCS Winter 2021 runners-up.

Back in the VCS Spring 2022, SE did not fare any better. On March 18, they suffered another whitewash, losing 2-0 to GAM. However, the peak of disappointment came the very next day, March 19, when SE was once again defeated by Team Secret with the same score of 2-0. TS became the first team in this Spring VCS to defeat SE in both the first and second rounds. In this match, once again, the three veterans of “Pink Chicken” – Artifact, Penguin, and Hiro02 – stood out, alongside Eddie and XuHao.
Witnessing SE lose match after match, while teetering on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs, the VCS community, particularly the fans of “Pink Chicken,” could not hide their disappointment. Many fans openly condemned SE’s poor performances, yet after the matches, they continued to create “trolling” content targeting both team members and opposing teams.

Currently, hope for the playoffs for “VCS Circus” is not entirely lost. However, miracles and luck only truly come to those who know how to strive. If the SE players do not quickly get back on their feet, a season even worse than VCS Winter 2021 is clearly looming ahead for “Pink Chicken.”
