The remaining semifinal of the LCK Spring 2022 is the showdown between DWG KIA and Gen.G Esports. These are two extremely powerful teams this Spring. However, for various reasons, they are not achieving results as good as T1. While Gen.G was hit by COVID-19 before the important matches, DK struggled to integrate old and new players.

However, since entering the playoffs, these two teams have made a strong comeback. Fans are also hoping that once they reach their best state, both DK and Gen.G will deliver bright performances. Indeed, the second semifinal match between DK and Gen.G was very tense and dramatic, worthy of a spotlight match between the current giants of Korean League of Legends.
In game 1, DK and Gen.G maintained a quite balanced match, but Chovy and his teammates had a slight edge in securing Dragon buffs. However, DK was not to be underestimated as they secured the Baron area and used this advantage to pressure Gen.G. In the 38th minute, DK secured the Elder Dragon and Gen.G had to accept defeat despite previously obtaining the Earth Dragon Soul.
In game 2, both teams swapped buffs compared to game 1. If DK had the Dragon Soul, Gen.G had the Baron. In the 37th minute, DK lost 4 players in an attempt to stop Gen.G from taking the Elder Dragon. Gen.G equalized the match 1-1.
In game 3, DK had a slight advantage as Hoya completely dominated Doran in the top lane. In major team fights, Gen.G was always the team losing players. The decisive fight in the 35th minute officially extinguished Gen.G’s hopes in game 3, and DK took the lead once again. However, as we moved into game 4, Gen.G controlled the dragons better. In the 30th minute, Gen.G secured both the Dragon Soul and Baron. With such an advantage, it was not difficult for Chovy and his teammates to push the match to a decisive game 5.
But the final game witnessed some miraculous moments. Canyon proved he is still one of the top “carry” players in the League of Legends scene. Thanks to Canyon’s dominance over Peanut, DK reached a point where they led Gen.G by 10k gold. Just when victory seemed close, Gen.G showed their resilience at the right moment. Gen.G successfully “flipped the script” and DK officially became the former champions of the LCK.
With this victory, Gen.G will face T1 in the LCK Spring 2022 finals. With the roster fully restored and boosted morale after a spectacular victory over DK, Gen.G is certainly a formidable opponent for Faker and his teammates. Because, with just one mistake, T1 could completely be punished like how Gen.G punished DK in the recent game 5 of the second semifinal.
