Finally, after many days of waiting, one of the most anticipated finals of the 2022 season – the LCK Spring 2022 finals officially took place. T1 faced off against Gen.G Esports in this crucial battle of the season. The team that emerged victorious would etch their name in history. For T1, it would be the perfect championship in League of Legends history, while Gen.G would claim their first LCK championship if they could defeat Faker and his teammates.

In game 1, Gen.G executed their strategy well in the early game. In fact, Gen.G managed to control major objectives like Dragons and Rift Herald. However, instead of playing for the late game to allow Doran’s Ornn to craft items for key positions in their team, Gen.G pushed the game too aggressively. A disastrous Baron play after losing the Infernal Dragon allowed T1 to regain control. Gumayusi unleashed his firepower, and T1 took the lead 1-0.
In game 2, Gen.G had a high-damage composition, but T1 held an advantage in the early and mid-game. However, mistakes by T1 players, particularly Oner, allowed Gen.G to gradually take control. As the game neared its end, champions like Ahri, Akali, and Xayah became increasingly powerful. After a 1-for-5 trade near the Dragon pit, Gen.G equalized the match.
When game 3 began, T1 had the advantage of choosing a favorable side and secured Jayce for Zeus – a champion that could guarantee victory in his hands. Gen.G also had some comfortable picks but fell short compared to T1. T1 dominated the entire match, at one point leading by around 10k gold. However, Peanut’s excellent smiting skills and Chovy’s elusive LeBlanc posed significant challenges for T1 in closing out the game. Nevertheless, just one moment of error at Baron allowed Gen.G to be nearly wiped out, and T1 surged ahead once again in this historic finals.
In the decisive game 4, Gen.G chose Akshan – a champion extremely difficult to execute for Doran. It was thought that this counter-pick would obliterate Zeus’s Kennen, but the reality was quite the opposite. After numerous ganks, Akshan became utterly useless. The morale of Gen.G’s players quickly collapsed. Peanut was no longer elusive despite still holding Lee Sin, while Chovy’s Ryze could do nothing but farm and use Realm Warp to escape. Ruler and Lehends tried their best, but everything was beyond their control. T1 won decisively with a complete annihilation of Gen.G, from skills to morale.
Once again, the members of Gen.G have missed out on the LCK championship. They tried their best, but at this moment, T1 is simply too strong. As for T1, with this victory, Faker and his teammates officially became the champions of LCK Spring 2022. Moreover, T1 is now the perfect champion in LCK history, as well as in League of Legends in general, remaining undefeated with 100% win rate across all matches.
Additionally, T1 also becomes the representative of LCK at MSI 2022 and sends a message to all their opponents at the upcoming MSI 2022: T1 is currently the most perfect team that the League of Legends community has ever witnessed.
