Specifically, the Korizon website unexpectedly announced that Nuguri had confirmed he would join DWG KIA for the upcoming Summer 2022 season. Rumors about Nuguri’s destination had been circulating widely in the League of Legends community for some time. In fact, Canyon was even willing to take time to play a solo 1v1 with Nuguri right before an important match against Gen.G Esports during Spring 2022. However, the early confirmation of the deal left the League of Legends community astonished.

One of the first names to speak out regarding the rumor of Nuguri confirming his move to DK is Doinb – Nuguri’s former teammate and close senior. Accordingly, Doinb stated: “He has no other options besides DK because not every team can afford his salary. Nuguri’s salary is not low, even if it’s just for half a season, it would still be very high.”
Additionally, according to some netizens who “dug up” Nuguri’s previous statements, the former DK star confirmed he would return to DK in the future when he had just joined FPX: “If at the end of this season I am still strong and feel that I am no longer a burden to Canyon, it is very likely that I will be his teammate again.”
