The term “actor” is probably not too unfamiliar to the League of Legends community. These “actors” enter ranked matches with one sole goal: to “help” the opposing team win. The reason is often that the other side has their main account or that of someone from the same “network”. This dishonest way of playing is also known as elo buff and can severely impact the gaming experience of other players. After all, League of Legends is a 5-player game, and at higher ranks, it is almost impossible to have a 1v5 situation as the skill levels of players are nearly equal.

Recently, Faker also had to speak out about the issue of “actors” in ranked matches. According to T1’s Mid Laner, this is the best time to climb ranks and also a suitable time for many “actors” to appear. Because at this moment, most players are temporarily pausing their ranked games to focus on MSI or take a break. However, Riot’s penalties are not strict enough. If they back out, they only lose 5 points, which Faker believes is too low.

Faker further stated: “League of Legends is very enjoyable, but it needs good management to operate long-term. If not, League of Legends could completely come to an end. Look back at famous games. They didn’t end because the game was boring, but because of loose management that allowed disruptors to run rampant.” Faker also believes that currently, many players in the Master and Grandmaster ranks are very reluctant to play: “They don’t find it meaningful anymore. And as players gradually withdraw, that game will continue to decline.”
The issue of “actors” in ranked matches has been continuously complained about by players like Uzi and Doinb. Especially in some ranked environments like the LPL, this problem is becoming more prevalent, causing both gamers and players to want to “migrate” to Korean ranked to avoid “actors” and “Chinese disruptors.” And just as Faker said, if Riot does not take strong actions, it is very likely that League of Legends will face danger as the issue of “actors” continues to increase over time as it is now.
