For the current League of Legends community, all eyes are on MSI 2022. This is a special MSI season as both G2 Esports, T1, and the VCS region make a comeback after a long absence. Furthermore, right from the opening match, Saigon Buffalo will face T1, which is definitely a highly anticipated match for the entire League of Legends community worldwide, not just LCK or VCS.

However, that doesn’t mean that the developments in the League of Legends scene aren’t receiving attention. Recently, the LPL organizers announced penalties. It’s important to note that the LPL Spring 2022 season ended long ago. But only at this point has the LPL “issued sentences” for violations during the final matches of the season. The names mentioned in this notice are Tian (Top Esports) and Rookie (Victory Five).

Specifically, during the match between TES and Royal Never Give Up, there was a situation that paused the game for about 2 minutes. Previously, in the match between TES and V5, there was also a 2-minute game pause from the TES side. After that, the LPL organizers announced that it was Tian who requested the pause. Although the specific reason for the jungle player continuously pausing the game was not disclosed, according to Chinese media, it was highly likely that Tian had gone to the restroom. Therefore, the TES player was penalized for disrupting the game due to personal matters.

“Joining” Tian on this LPL penalty list is Rookie. Accordingly, the fault of the player currently wearing the V5 jersey was quitting the game before the match ended. This incident occurred in game 3 of the V5 – TES match. In fact, this is a habit of quite a few gamers to save time in the waiting queue. However, in professional play, this behavior is seen as disrespectful to the opponent, and thus Rookie also received a “penalty notice” from the LPL organizers.

It can be said that the rules in the LPL can be quite strict, and players can easily receive penalties for reasons that are… quite unusual. Not long ago, even legends like Uzi faced penalties due to wearing flip-flops in a match thinking he wouldn’t be participating in the official game.
