Perhaps the League of Legends community, especially LCK fans and particularly T1 supporters, cannot forget the name Gori. This player is a former member of T1 before moving to compete for EDward Gaming and then Nongshim RedForce. However, in these teams, he did not achieve much success and only lasted a short time. During the off-season transfer at the end of the 2021 season, Gori moved to FunPlus Phoenix with hopes of replacing Doinb.
However, Gori’s journey with FPX did not turn out as expected. With only Lwx remaining, not many people truly believed “Phoenix” could achieve great things in Spring 2022. But Gori showed that he was unable to replace Doinb, both in terms of leadership and as a talented Mid Laner. The most memorable moment in Gori’s journey over the past few years was perhaps during the two times NS defeated T1 in LCK Summer 2021. At that time, after each win by NS, Gori would make provocative gestures towards Faker. This defiant attitude from the young player infuriated not only T1 fans but also the entire LCK community. Since then, Gori has become a target for criticism from a segment of Korean League of Legends fans up to now.
After a period of unsuccessful attempts in the two largest League of Legends regions in the world, Gori now has to wander all the way to the PCS region – which is often considered a minor region in the League of Legends world. In fact, compared to VCS, PCS is sometimes regarded as even lower. A typical example is at MSI 2022, where PSG Talon was defeated by Saigon Buffalo in the second round of the Rumble Stage. That loss indirectly caused PSG’s chances of making it to the top 4 to vanish.
This can be seen as a step back in Gori’s career. Nonetheless, he has joined PSG, which is considered one of the strongest teams in PCS. Gori’s chances of reaching the 2022 World Championship remain quite bright. At that time, Gori will have another opportunity to prove himself and demonstrate that LPL and LCK were wrong for not giving him more chances.
