If you didn’t know, the Teamfight Tactics season 7 and patch 12.11 have been updated on Riot servers since June 8th. Just one day after its launch, the Artillery – Festival composition has shown to dominate the meta with a top 4 placement rate of up to 62.7% (data from Metatft.com). So what is the main strength of the Artillery – Festival composition? How can you build this team comp? Let’s find out.

In terms of power, the Artillery – Festival composition has a very diverse damage output ranging from physical to magical. By utilizing the “numbers cheat” ability from the Dragonborn trait, this composition can gain a significant advantage in the early game. In terms of crowd control, this team comp is equally competitive with others, as both Sona and Ornn are units that possess crowd control skills with stunning or knock-up effects.
For building the composition, you need to acquire Tahm Kench early on since he is the only tank unit from the Festival trait. Depending on your “luck,” you will choose between a 2 Brawler – 2 Artillery or a 2 Dragonborn – 2 Artillery setup to ensure both tankiness and damage in the early game. If you have damage items early on, Tristana is the best unit to hold items at this stage.

By the mid-game, you will have two main building directions. The first is a slow roll playstyle to gradually upgrade units like Tristana, Jinx, and Lulu to 3 stars. You should choose this playstyle when, during level 5-6, the shop offers many Tristana or Jinx. If not, you should opt for a steady level-up and use Tristana as an item holder for Corki in the later stages.

As you reach the late game, you need to add important units to your composition such as Corki, Ornn, and Sona. If you are lucky and manage to buy Bard, you should sell Heimerdinger and include Bard to activate the Mystic effect. Additionally, Bard will assist you in upgrading the important 4-cost units mentioned earlier.

For the augment choices, upgrades that enhance the Artillery or Festival thresholds are the most crucial as they provide a lot of additional damage for the composition. Additionally, augments that provide healing, such as Spoils of War, are also a good choice since the units in this composition can eliminate opponents very quickly.
Regarding items, Infinity Edge and Giant Slayer are the two attack items you should assemble first as they synergize well with both Corki and Tristana. Furthermore, the Spear of Shojin is another important item that players should build immediately, especially for units with strong crowd control like Lulu and Sona, who utilize it very effectively.
