In the epic clash against DWG KIA on June 25 (Vietnam time), T1 completely defeated the 2021 LCK champions with a convincing 2-0 victory. In that match, T1 clearly demonstrated superiority in everything from situational handling, team calls, macro play to skirmishes. Meanwhile, DK showed an unexpected disconnection, even among former teammates like the trio of Nuguri, Canyon, and ShowMaker.
In the post-match interview, Faker admitted that T1 has “outperformed” the rest of the LCK. Specifically, the legendary captain of T1 stated: “I think we have surpassed other teams in the LCK in controlling the game. Of course, there is some luck involved. However, this does not mean we are too far ahead of them.”

Additionally, Faker mentioned that he is not concerned about the records achieved with T1. In fact, Faker does not even remember setting any winning streak records before: “The record of 24 consecutive wins doesn’t feel too significant, especially when the previous record was set a long time ago. The reason I don’t think much about this important milestone is that at that time, I didn’t think I had set such a record. But anyway, that feeling is still very enjoyable.”

However, Faker also noted that DK is indeed a strong opponent, but after defeating DK, he is confident that T1 can finish the LCK Summer 2022 with another long unbeaten streak as they did in the previous Spring Split. However, this goal is certainly not easy. Because, they still have a return match against DK and will soon face off against Gen.G Esports – another strong team that also just defeated DK earlier this week.

But with what they have shown in the match against DK, there is every reason to be confident that T1 will overcome Gen.G. And if they can remain unbeaten in Summer 2022, similar to Spring, this would be an achievement that perhaps no team can reach, at least in the near future of the League of Legends scene.
