The LCK Summer 2022 has reached its halfway point, and the teams are starting to enter a second round of matches that promise to be even more intense. This is a crucial round, and the results will determine the future of the teams in this Summer Split. Any mistake now will come at a high cost, and there will be no chance for a redo if the teams happen to be careless and lose a victory.

Before entering the LCK Summer 2022, DWG KIA (DK) was the only team among the top three League of Legends (LoL) teams in Korea to undergo a roster change. Specifically, DK parted ways with player Hoya, moved Burdol to the substitute position, and brought back Nuguri – the former player of DK, who had led the team to victory at the 2020 World Championship before transitioning to play in the Chinese League of Legends – LPL.

However, it seems that DK’s issues are not solely related to the Top Lane position. For instance, in the match against their arch-rival T1, DK’s members played rather disjointedly. The only player who genuinely showed effort in that match was Nuguri. As a result, DK suffered a clean 0-2 defeat against their direct competitor for the title in the LCK Summer 2022 and the upcoming World Championship 2022.

Nevertheless, Nuguri seems quite confident about the team’s upcoming journey in the second round of the Summer Split. DK’s Top Laner shared in a recent interview: “I heard people calling us the ‘gatekeepers,’ the measure to differentiate strong and weak teams this Summer. I feel a shiver and absolutely do not want to be called that in the second round. We will defeat every top opponent, even if we lose, we will still prove that we are a top-tier team.”

Additionally, Nuguri hopes to have a greater impact on the team’s gameplay and results in the second round. But of course, wanting is one thing. Nuguri and his teammates must strive even harder, not only to prove their strength but also to aim for the title in the Summer Split and a spot at the 2022 World Championship in San Francisco at the end of the year.
