Warriors
There’s a harsh truth that Warriors possess one of the best melee carries in Teamfight Tactics (Olaf), yet compositions using this trait have never been highly rated. The reason is that Olaf is often fiercely contested by players of Dragon and Assassin traits. Additionally, equipping the Assassin emblem on Olaf provides this champion with significantly more damage than relying on a larger Warrior threshold of 6 or 8 champions.

However, in the upcoming patch 12.14, Warriors will receive a substantial buff to change this situation. Specifically, the activation rate of the warrior effect will increase from 33% to 50%, and even the damage when activated will also be increased at the threshold of 4 champions or more. This will enable the Warrior trait to deal much stronger and more consistent damage compared to before. This also enhances the value of the Warrior emblem and related tech cores significantly.
Dragon Warriors
Once renowned for the Lee Sin carry playstyle, Dragon Warriors have now weakened considerably. The primary reason for this is that this trait, along with the carry Lee Sin, has been severely nerfed and is no longer a viable damage option. In fact, in certain compositions, Karma with her long-range damage has proven to be stronger than Lee Sin.

This may change in the upcoming patch 12.14 as the Dragon Warrior trait will receive significant buffs at all three key thresholds of 3/6/9 champions. With a substantial increase in skill damage at activation thresholds, key champions of this trait like Lee Sin, Karma, Swain… could make a powerful comeback. Additionally, with the Mythic trait also getting buffed, compositions revolving around Volibear may appear more frequently in the new version.
Shapeshifters
While not necessarily a weak trait, Shapeshifters are still not a very good option for ranking up. This is because the strength of the Shapeshifter variants is not balanced at all. You can secure the number 1 spot with the Duelist or Warlord variant, but you may face a frustrating defeat if you get the Blade Dancer, Mage, or Energy variant. This inconsistency has made Shapeshifters less favored at the moment.

In patch 12.14, Riot will significantly boost the Blade Dancer and Mage variants to change this situation. Specifically, the critical activation threshold for the Blade Dancer variant at 2 Shapeshifters will be 50% health. Meanwhile, the skill damage increase for the Mage variant at the 4/6/8 Shapeshifter thresholds will also be boosted significantly. This change promises to make Shapeshifters extremely powerful in the upcoming version.
