In the current LPL Summer 2022, alongside the leading teams, those in the middle of the ranking also attract much attention. This group includes many formidable names that have the potential to cause surprises, such as FunPlus Phoenix (FPX), LNG Esports (LNG), EDward Gaming (EDG), and Weibo Gaming (WBG)… These teams do not have too much difference between them, promising a fierce competition for the playoffs of LPL Summer 2022.

Among these, FPX is perhaps causing the most concern for their fans. The performance of the players is extremely unstable. They can win against strong teams or teams of equal level (like LNG), but can also easily lose to weaker teams like Oh My God (OMG) or most recently ThunderTalk Gaming (TT). Among the current positions in FPX, the jungler Clid is perhaps the most concerning name.

Clid’s current performance in LPL Summer 2022 is not really good. He has participated in all of FPX’s matches this season but has only achieved 15 wins against 17 losses, with a win rate of only 46.9% – nearly the lowest among players who have played over 30 matches (only above Aki from OMG – a team currently in the lower half of the rankings).

Additionally, Clid’s KDA is also low (3.38) and is only slightly above Aki among players who have played over 30 matches in LPL Summer this year.
Witnessing Clid’s near-complete defeat against Beichuan of TT in the recent match between the two teams, many LPL fans and FPX supporters are left disheartened. Notably, FPX chose to part ways with Beichuan to retain former T1 star during the mid-season transfer of 2022. According to some opinions, FPX’s biggest mistake was letting Beichuan go to keep Clid.

However, Clid and FPX still have time, and they are not yet pushed into a truly desperate situation. But if Clid cannot help FPX at least reach the playoffs, he will face many troubles and may even find himself “wandering” when the 2022 season ends without the “Phoenix” (nickname of FPX) achieving the desired results.
