Chovy Surpasses the Top 4 Marksmen in LCK
After 9 weeks of intense competition, the group stage of Round 1-2 of the 2025 Regular Season has concluded with many achievements and noteworthy performances. Among them, Gen.G has impressively become the only team to remain undefeated in all 18 matches during this stage, matching T1’s record from Spring 2022. Notably, Chovy has emerged as the most perfect Mid Laner in the current LCK, arguably the second of his kind since Faker in LCK’s history. Recently, he also ranked first in damage per minute – a statistic that is typically dominated by Marksmen.
Accordingly, the total damage per minute that Chovy dealt in the recent group stage was 805 – a nearly unbelievable figure for a Mid Laner, a position that is now required to fulfill multiple roles. Notably, Chovy claimed the top position while Gen.G also has two other strong damage sources in Kiin and Ruler. Ruler himself ranked behind his younger teammate with 770 damage per minute.
Chovy’s position also significantly outperforms the top 4 Marksmen in the LCK. Apart from Chovy, the other three in the ranking are Gumayusi (743), Diable (730), and Viper (722). Diable is the only Marksman from a team outside the top 4 to make the list. However, overall, apart from Ruler, Viper, and Gumayusi, he has had the most impressive performance in the group stage. Meanwhile, Gumayusi missed at least 4 early-season matches but still made a strong breakthrough to rank in the top 3.
Chovy is More Determined Than Ever
While he may extend his career for as long as possible, Chovy likely understands that Gen.G may eventually be unable to maintain its current “all-stars” lineup. Therefore, Chovy’s determination has surged, and he is perfecting his game day by day.
This year, or never again, may be Chovy’s year to achieve the only title missing from his career.
