The year 2025 marks an important milestone for the game Teamfight Tactics (TFT) as it was included in the competition of the Vietnam National Esports Championship. With the collaboration of Riot Games, VNGGames, and the Vietnam Recreational Esports Association (VIRESA), this is a fresh playground suitable for raising social awareness and promoting the movement of intellectual sports training within the community.

In the first season (2025), the tournament was also part of the TFT Esports roadmap for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, contributing to enhancing competitiveness and stability in the area.

After two phases of online competition from August to October, the Vietnam National TFT Championship officially reached the Grand Final, held offline at Rach Mieu Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on November 8. The event gathered the 8 best TFT players in the country, who had achieved high rankings from the APAC TFT Premier League and the National TFT Championship Stage 1 & 2.

In the end, after 5 matches, player YBY1 qualified for Checkmate and overcame 7 formidable opponents to become the champion of the first season of the Vietnam National TFT Championship 2025. With this achievement, the player born in 2004 received a cash prize of 20 million VND and added another milestone to his collection of titles. Previously, YBY1 had also claimed victory at the 2025 Arena of Valor event and the Master’s Cup, part of the APAC TFT Premier League.

To diversify the experience for fans, the Offline Grand Final event featured various activity areas, games, and valuable prizes. Additionally, spectators who purchased tickets had the opportunity to interact and compete with top influencers of TFT Vietnam in a showmatch using the Season 15 version: “K.O. Hero Showdown” of the game. The festival opened 4 hours before the Grand Final to allow the community to explore and enjoy everything.

Teamfight Tactics is a strategy game developed by Riot Games and officially published by VNGGames in Vietnam since November 2023. The game quickly created a “fever” in the Vietnamese gaming community and attracted millions of players of all ages. Furthermore, TFT is gradually being developed into a leading new trend in esports in Vietnam, with a professional tournament system that has attracted over 6,000 registrations for national qualifiers since the beginning of 2024 to compete for spots in regional and international TFT tournaments.

With the debut of its first season, the Vietnam National TFT Championship 2025 marks a strong transformation for this intellectual esports discipline, while also leaving a significant mark on the continuous development of the esports field in the digital era.
