With just about 2 weeks to go, the 2022 World Championship (Worlds 2022) is set to kick off officially. This time, the VCS has the chance to return after a long absence for various reasons. Regions like the LPL and LCK are also sending powerful representatives. Notably, the League of Legends (LoL) scene from China is considered to have the strongest four representatives ever. Many experts believe that any of the four representatives from the LPL could be crowned champions.

The teams participating in Worlds 2022 can all be considered deserving, having worked very hard in the recent Summer Split. However, there are also quite a few regrettable absences. Especially for regions with more than four elite names, any team left at home will evoke a sense of disappointment among fans.
1. Perkz (Team Vitality – VIT)
As one of the most veteran players in the LoL scene, Perkz’s absence from recent international tournaments has always been unfortunate. However, it must be noted that at this moment, alongside his not-so-great form, VIT is also not a team with sufficient depth.

With his absence from Worlds 2022, this will be the first time the former G2 Esports star misses the highest-level international tournament in the LoL scene. Perkz will always be considered one of the top Mid Laners in the European and American LoL scene. But at Worlds 2022, he will have to stay home and cheer for his teammates from the screen.
2. Prince (Liiv SANDBOX – LSB)
The young ADC of LSB is truly one of the quality names and has had one of the most outstanding performances in the LCK Summer Split 2022. It can be said that LSB reaching the final matches of the regional qualifiers owes much to Prince. It should be noted that in Spring 2022, LSB was one of the two bottom teams with a record of 4 wins – 14 losses.

Although Prince cannot participate in Worlds 2022 this time, last Summer was truly a brilliant showcase from the “Prince”. If he maintains this form, it is entirely possible for Prince to participate in international tournaments in the upcoming seasons, especially since he is only 22 years old.
3. The Entire Team Liquid Roster (TL)
Having invested heavily in building a star-studded roster, TL has completely missed out on both of the biggest international tournaments in the LoL scene for 2022. TL’s experience has shown that simply bringing in stars and assembling a team does not guarantee success.

With the star-studded roster not achieving results, there have been numerous reports that TL will disband and build a new roster for the next season. But for now, it can only be said that the LCS representatives have perhaps made a mistake on their path.
4. Doinb and Tarzan (LNG Esports – LNG)
The duo Doinb – Tarzan and the entire LNG team are perhaps the most regrettable absences at Worlds 2022. Although they have put in a lot of effort and won many BO5 matches against strong opponents, in the final match, LNG lost to Royal Never Give Up (RNG). With having to stay home, Tarzan also misses the chance to reunite with his former teammates at Griffin (Chovy, Lehends, Doran).

A Worlds without Doinb’s confident declarations or the talent of Tarzan is truly a disappointment. Furthermore, Doinb is now a father. No one can know when the former 2019 World Champion will play in his last season. But it can be said that LNG’s absence is not due to their lack of skill, but rather because their region has too many good teams.

Conclusion
With these names missing, the LoL community cannot help but feel regret. However, it also shows that Worlds 2022 is truly high quality when assessing the strength of the teams. Fans can fully expect to witness high-level performances between the strongest teams from each region in the current LoL scene.
