The first round of matches in the World Championship (Worlds) 2022 has concluded, and teams will have 2 days to rest before entering the second round. Most results were as expected by many. However, there were also surprising matches and performances, such as Fnatic’s (FNC) victory over T1 and Royal Never Give Up (RNG) defeating Gen.G Esports (Gen.G) – the number one contender for the championship.

Not only the teams as a whole, but individual performances have also left a significant mark. A prime example is Wei, who after the first round had an impressive KDA of 42.0, making him the jungler with the most remarkable stats. Especially since RNG’s “forest ranger” tends to support his teammates considerably. Statistics also pointed out the 3 teams with the highest performance after the first round of the 2022 Worlds Group Stage concluded.

3. T1

In the first round of the Group Stage, T1 did not have a good result as they lost to FNC. Even though they won against EDward Gaming (EDG) and Cloud9 (C9), T1 still ranked third due to their head-to-head with FNC. Moreover, Faker and his teammates face the risk of early elimination if they do not improve their performance in the second round.

However, T1 fans can take some comfort as they are the third team among the top 3 with the best KDA performance after the first round. Among them, the duo Gumayusi and Keria continued to perform well with scores of 8.8 and 8.0 respectively. Their stats, along with those of the trio Zeus – Oner – Faker, helped T1 finish the first round of the Group Stage with an average KDA of 5.78.

2. Rogue

The second position belongs to Rogue (RGE), reflecting exactly what this team showcased in the recent first round of matches. Arriving at the 2022 Worlds as the number one seed from the LEC region, RGE was not highly rated. However, RGE is one of the 3 teams that maintained an unbeaten record even though their group included TES – the LPL “giant”.

Among the RGE players, Odoamne has a KDA of 12.0. The duo Larsen and Comp both have a KDA of 13.0. Along with Malrang and Support Trymbi with scores of 7.8 and 4.9 respectively, RGE boasts an average performance of 10.14. These stats also indicate that RGE’s strength is evenly distributed across all three lanes, making them one of the most well-rounded teams today.

1. Royal Never Give Up

RNG had to face a lot of doubts as they struggled during the Play-In Stage. In fact, the “Royal Brigade” was criticized by the LPL community after their defeat to DRX at the very start of the Play-In Stage. But overcoming all of that, RNG demonstrated that the loss to DRX was merely an accident. They even successfully avenged LCK by defeating Gen.G.

As mentioned above, Wei boasts a KDA of 42.0 and not only Wei, RNG’s ADC GALA also has a very high performance (40.0). These extremely high stats helped RNG achieve an average KDA of 21.92, more than double that of the second-placed RGE.

The second round of the Group Stage will begin in almost a day, and these stats are sure to change significantly. These teams must strive their hardest, not only to protect their impressive stats but also to navigate the challenging journey ahead in the Worlds.
