On November 6th, DRX shocked the world by defeating T1 to win the 2022 World Championship. This victory holds special significance for Deft, as it marks the first time in nearly 10 years of competition that he has finally achieved a world championship title.

Throughout his career, Deft had two extremely successful years in the LPL under the colors of EDward Gaming. Specifically, Deft won the MSI 2015 title and the LPL Summer Championship 2016 while still competing for EDG.
Additionally, Deft is very close to teammates like ClearLove and Meiko, always considering them as his best friends in the LPL. Therefore, when asked about his biggest regret in his career, Deft immediately thought of ClearLove because the two could not win the world championship while playing under the EDG banner.

“One of the teammates that impressed me the most is ClearLove. He is very similar to me in that we both dream of winning the world championship and never stop striving to achieve it. However, ClearLove retired too early, and that’s really unfortunate. The biggest regret of my career is not being able to help ClearLove win the world championship,” Deft shared.
Back in 2015, EDG was one of the few LPL teams that could compete with LCK teams on the international stage. Therefore, LPL fans had high hopes that EDG could claim the championship title at the 2015 World Championship. However, it turned out to be a tournament where SKT T1 performed exceptionally well with players like Marin and Faker at their peak.

Thus, Deft feels regret for not being able to help his close friend ClearLove win the championship when both were at their best. As for ClearLove, his students at EDG helped him achieve part of his dream with the 2021 World Championship title. This coach is also actively working to ensure EDG has the best roster and claims titles in the upcoming 2023 season.
