The rune system in League of Legends (LoL) was designed by Riot to serve multiple character classes. In the Precision tree, Riot describes these as points that enhance attack power and long-term damage. Therefore, the runes in this tree were originally designed to serve ADC champions.

However, as League of Legends has evolved, many Keystone runes in this tree have strayed from their original purpose. Specifically, according to feedback from the LoL community, only the Deadly Tempo rune is used by most ADC champions. Other runes in the Precision tree have become unsuitable or very weak for the majority of champions in this class.
“The truth is that aside from Deadly Tempo, the other Keystone runes in the Precision tree are no longer suitable for most ADCs. If Riot reads my opinion, I hope they will reconsider reworking these runes. Starting with Conqueror, Samira and Nilah are the only two champions that use this rune. Simply because they have no better options available.” – a player shared.

“Summon Aery is almost only suitable for Lucian. Miss Fortune and Ezreal also use this rune because it is the best option available. The Fleet Footwork rune has been nerfed too much and has become very weak. Jhin is probably the only champion using this rune. Even Caitlyn (a champion that should use Fleet Footwork) has skipped it.” – a frustrated gamer commented on the LoL forum.

The main reason for the issue with the Keystone runes in the Precision tree is a design flaw from Riot. With the Conqueror rune, its stacking ability on ranged champions is extremely poor, making it unsuitable for most ADCs. Only Samira (who can stack it quickly with her ultimate) and Nilah (considered a melee champion) utilize this rune.

The Summon Aery rune presents a paradox in its operation. This rune is used as a tool for short-term spell exchanges. However, it also provides a damage boost to marked targets, which is suitable for prolonged fights. As a result, very few ADC champions fully utilize these elements.

As for the Fleet Footwork rune, as the community has shared, it has been nerfed too much in the past. In summary, due to Riot’s somewhat flawed design decisions, many Keystone runes in the Precision tree have become unfriendly to ADC champions. Perhaps Riot should consider a rework of these runes in the future, as desired by the community.
