In the victory over Gen.G, Faker was one of the standout performers. Together with his T1 teammates, he achieved their first goal of the season: reaching the finals and securing a spot at MSI 2023. Of course, T1 still has one more BO5 match to win the championship, but they are showing a distinctly superior form compared to other teams.

Notably, Faker used Jayce again in this match for the Mid Lane position. Although Jayce is a champion with strong poke potential, he is not often used by Faker—whether during his peak or while supporting younger teammates. Since 2015, after the match against Gen.G, Faker has only used Jayce 6 times in professional tournaments. However, he operated this champion smoothly and helped T1 secure victory in the deciding game.

In the interview, Faker commented on using Jayce in the fourth game. He stated: “Since Azir has been nerfed significantly, I think there will be more Mid Lane options. Especially since I have confidence in the champions I choose, Jayce was a necessary pick.” Notably, Faker made a “bold” statement about the Jayce skills of two players—Zeus and Khan. One is his current junior and the other is a former teammate.
“I think that not just with Jayce, but with all champions, I play better than Zeus. As for Khan, I used to say that Khan’s Jayce was the best, but now I no longer agree with that assessment,” – Faker concluded about his two teammates.

Of course, this could just be Faker’s teasing remarks towards Zeus and Khan. Since the era of “The Great Khan”, it wasn’t until Zeus used Jayce that the significant impact of this champion was seen again. Therefore, it can be said that T1 currently possesses two of the best Jayce players in the League of Legends scene—Khan and Zeus. As for Faker, he is already famous for his wide champion pool, and it’s no surprise that he maximizes the potential of any champion he plays.
