Recently, Riot has revealed new information about the new skins (Spirit – Demon) line. Of course, there won’t be too many adjustments; this skin line will simply add 4 new names. Specifically, Vayne and Renekton will join the Spirit group, while Nasus and Jarvan IV will become new members of the Demon.

Additionally, several other champions will belong to a new skin line called Inkshadow. This skin line will also feature very popular champions, some of whom have brotherly relationships (Yone – Yasuo and Volibear – Ornn). Furthermore, Master Yi Inkshadow will be a Mythical skin while Yasuo Inkshadow will have a Prestige skin.

Ignoring the fact that the champions are joining groups contrary to their main storyline, these new skins for these champions essentially just address the “it’s been a while since new skins” issue for some names like Nasus and Renekton. Meanwhile, Vayne and Jarvan IV already have quite a few skins, so adding a new skin line doesn’t significantly impact these champions.
However, it is clear that League of Legends fans are not satisfied with Riot (again) continuing to invest in a skin line that feels outdated. The Spirit – Demon skin line was first launched in 2017 but has frequently been revisited in recent years. One player commented: “I really like the Demon – Spirit skins, but why are they adding these names to these skin groups when they already have similar skins in other themes? For example, Vayne’s Radiant or Nasus’s Hellfire. The skins are not bad, but I won’t buy them.”

Of course, Riot will not change its new skin release schedule due to such feedback. The publisher has also made some unusual changes by deciding to swap two champions, Nasus and Renekton, into two skin lines that contradict their personalities in their main storyline. However, this alone is not enough to attract attention.

In the past, Riot has created many fascinating skin lines, such as the Star Guardian or Ultimate skin lines. Recently, such creativity has almost disappeared. The new skins give players a feeling that they are quite similar to other themes released before. Perhaps, if Riot wants its customers to “reach into their wallets,” they need to make more significant and creative changes in creating new skins in the future.
