MSI 2023 is Considered Much More Exciting Just Because One Champion is Missing

(Nation) - Many players believe that Riot should permanently remove this champion from League of Legends tournaments post-MSI 2023.

MSI 2023 is a tournament that Riot Games has brought about many positive changes. This is the first MSI tournament where each major region has two representatives participating. Moreover, the round-robin scoring system has been removed and replaced with a double-elimination format. This has created many exciting and dramatic matches at MSI 2023.

However, the League of Legends (LoL) community also believes that MSI 2023 is an exciting tournament thanks to the absence of Yuumi. Specifically, Riot did not allow Yuumi’s rework to appear at MSI 2023. This inadvertently gave Support players more opportunities to shine in this tournament.

“One of the reasons I find MSI 2023 so interesting is that Yuumi is not present. This allows other players to have more opportunities to shine instead of just playing Yuumi and sticking to the ADC for most of the game. I really hope that Yuumi will not appear in professional tournaments anymore,” a spectator commented.

Indeed, with Yuumi not being present at MSI 2023, Support players have had more “stage time” and have been remembered. Numerous players have made stunning plays with Thresh, Blitzcrank, or excellent initiation moments with Rakan. This is clearly much more entertaining than witnessing them play Yuumi and stick to the ADC.

Nevertheless, the absence of Yuumi in tournaments after MSI 2023 is highly unlikely. After all, Yuumi is still a champion in League of Legends, and teams have the right to choose her if they feel it is appropriate. Hopefully, this champion will not become too strong and force teams to pick Yuumi in the future.
