Recently, Gen.G defeated T1 in the showdown between two of the most legendary and formidable teams currently. Notably, both T1 and Gen.G faced significant roster issues leading up to the match. However, T1 suffered more, missing their captain Faker, while head coach Bengi resigned about three hours before the match. On the other hand, Gen.G‘s Peanut had to play online due to an unexpected illness.

Interestingly, in the match against T1, although Chovy died several times in the second game, Gen.G still clinched the overall victory thanks to Doran’s outstanding performance. This wasn’t just a day for Doran to shine; the match also conveyed a message that Gen.G wants to send to the rest of the LCK: Gen.G is currently a well-rounded team, and every individual shines without needing to rely on Chovy or Peanut.

With Faker’s absence, Chovy had a relatively easy day on the field. His opponent was a rookie Poby, still too green in terms of experience, composure, and skill. Facing a peak-performance Chovy, Poby’s attempts with the champion Azir in the second game can be seen as a significant effort from the 2006-born player along with his veteran teammates. However, Chovy remained confident when discussing T1’s missing Faker.

Chovy stated: “T1 is a familiar opponent, a team I’ve faced many times and this time, only their Mid Lane has changed. At first, I didn’t know how to play against Poby. But then I thought, even with Faker, the match wouldn’t be any harder. Faker understands the game, but Gen.G has beaten T1 before.”

In fact, Chovy’s assessment is grounded since, in the first round, Gen.G had already overcome T1 with their strongest lineup. However, the matches between Gen.G and T1 always harbor many surprises with unpredictable developments. Therefore, it’s hard to predict anything, and fans are certainly looking forward to a rematch when Faker returns in top form.
