In recent years, Riot Games has faced much criticism as the quality of League of Legends has been declining. A prime example is the frequent appearance of game bugs whenever League of Legends updates to a new version or introduces new characters. In fact, some of these bugs have been exploited for cheating in League of Legends.

Recently, a very serious bug has emerged that negatively impacted the LPL Summer 2023 tournament. Specifically, the LPL organizers announced that the tournament server could not update to version 13.13 due to a severe bug. Therefore, all matches in the final week of LPL Summer 2023 will continue to run on the current version 13.12.

It is important to note that version 13.13 is a crucial update as many strong champions in the tournament have been adjusted. Notably, Neeko has been significantly nerfed in her Q – Bouncing Bomb and R – Blooming Burst skills in this version. Therefore, the continued use of version 13.12 in the LPL tournament will allow Neeko to remain a prioritized choice.

Furthermore, the inability of the tournament server to update to version 13.13 indicates that it is facing extremely serious issues. This could lead to further severe bugs arising and negatively affecting the LPL tournament. This is truly a very bad sign for Riot Games as the quality of the tournament servers is deteriorating severely.
Fortunately for Riot Games, the Group Stage of LPL Summer 2023 has only one week left of matches. Therefore, the number of affected games will not be too large. Hopefully, Riot Games will have a solution to rectify the situation and enable the tournament server to update normally as soon as possible.
