The fifth week of the LCK Summer 2023 was a rough time for T1. The team was without Faker due to the “Demon King” suffering an injury, and even coach Bengi resigned. This led to T1 facing two consecutive losses to DRX and Gen.G in a disappointing manner.

Therefore, as they entered the sixth week of the tournament, many fans were concerned that T1 would continue to fail since Faker was still unable to return. However, facing the bottom-ranked Nongshim RedForce, T1 secured an important victory. After the match, player Zeus surprised fans by asserting that the recent losing streak was actually a good thing for T1.

“Indeed, when playing, no one wants to lose. However, the recent losing streak has been beneficial for us (T1). The whole team had to confront a difficult situation and find ways to overcome it. We have improved significantly in terms of mentality after the fifth week of competition, and the whole team believes this is necessary to win titles in the future” – Zeus shared after the match.

Zeus believes the recent losing streak helped T1 train their mentality and face challenges

In recent years, T1 has reached the finals of LCK, World Championships, and MSI but has failed to lift the trophy, watching their opponents celebrate instead. The young players of T1 have made numerous mistakes in crucial matches, leading to the team’s defeats. It can be said that the mental aspect is a significant barrier for T1 in their quest for titles.

Thus, as per Zeus’s earlier comments, the recent losing streak in LCK has turned out to be beneficial for this team. T1 was allowed to fail in the Group Stage because they still had time to adapt and prepare mentally to face challenges. This could be a great way to build resilience for the young players of T1 as they aim for titles in the future.
