Recently, Riot has continued to conduct surveys regarding the teams participating in the World Championship (Worlds) 2023. With just a few days left, the highest-level international tournament in the League of Legends (LoL) scene is set to take place. Fans certainly hope their favorite players will shine and bring home the prestigious championship. Teams like T1, Gen.G, JD Gaming… along with their star players are the most anticipated.

Of course, with the current meta still revolving significantly around the bot lane, and with no signs of gameplay shifting to the top lane, bot duos will play an incredibly important role in the success or failure of a team. Notably, the top teams expected at Worlds 2023 currently all boast extremely talented marksmen like Ruler, Gumayusi, Peyz, and Elk. Accompanying them are equally talented supports (Missing, Keria…), but the question posed by Riot is: “Which is the strongest bot duo currently participating in Worlds 2023?”

The answer from the majority of LoL fans is surprisingly clear: Gumayusi – Keria are still regarded as the strongest bot lane at present. Of course, considering that T1 fans dominate the LoL community, this result is not too surprising. However, one must admit: Gumayusi has consistently maintained the highest level of performance, while Keria recently received a significant morale boost with the Gold Medal at ASIAD – the first international title of the 2002-born support’s career.

With their spirits high, there is every reason to believe that Gumayusi – Keria will present a more polished performance than last year. Of course, there are still many opinions regarding Ruler and Missing – the duo currently on JDG. In fact, considering Ruler’s performance at present, this may be the strongest bot lane based on logic. However, Missing often plays at a more average level, thus not having too many standout moments that could determine the outcome of the match.

Of course, we cannot overlook names like Elk – ON or Peyz – Delight, who are also performing well. Worlds 2023 is likely to still revolve around the bot lane meta, and during that time, the performance of these duos could be the decisive factor in determining the fate of the matches.
