Recently, after the Play-in stage of the World Championship (Worlds) 2023 concluded, players from teams that made it to the Swiss round began to gather at the competition venues and participated in Media Day. In this Worlds 2023, following the new format, all the strongest teams from the 4 regions went straight into the Swiss round, and GAM Esports is the only representative from a non-Major region that has the opportunity to participate here.

Notably, during this time, players participating in media events also had messages for their opponents as well as insights on Worlds 2023. Over the past day, JD Gaming players appeared at press conferences and made some noteworthy statements. Particularly, the jungler Kanavi was asked for his thoughts on two players, Zeus (who was a teammate during ASIAD) and 369 (his current teammate at JDG).

Kanavi shared: “Zeus is a master of aggressive play, but 369 is not only a master of aggression; he is also very good at playing defensively. He can win his lane regardless of whether I am there or not. That makes me feel comfortable.”

Kanavi’s statement has sparked a wave of controversy among international LoL fans. Many viewers interpret Kanavi’s comments to mean that Zeus needs assistance to perform well, while 369 can “stand on his own.” However, it cannot be denied that 369 is constantly improving. Meanwhile, Zeus still has a very powerful playstyle, but in previous important matches, he often did not perform particularly well.

Nevertheless, the effectiveness of the top lane specifically and other lanes in the match generally depend heavily on each other. Therefore, not only Zeus or 369, but all players from JDG and T1 must play with maximum focus and in their best form to hope for a final victory.
