Ruler surpasses all players and achieves an unprecedented milestone after MSI 2025
In the grand final of MSI 2025, the League of Legends community once again witnessed another BO5 at the tournament held in Canada, with the final victory going to the reigning champions Gen.G. With this victory, Gen.G officially becomes the third team in League of Legends history to successfully defend the MSI championship, following RNG and SKT T1. However, Ruler achieved an even greater historic milestone: the first player to win MSI with two different teams from two different regions.

Specifically, in 2023, Ruler joined JDG and with this team, he swept through all the early-year tournaments of League of Legends, including the Spring LPL and the subsequent MSI. In fact, JDG was expected to complete the Grand Slam of titles as they proved to be overwhelmingly strong. However, a bitter defeat against T1 in the semifinals of the World Championship ended all of that, and it wasn’t until 2025 that Ruler reclaimed an international title.
This achievement may well be one that no one can break in League of Legends history. Because, currently, the players who have won MSI, excluding Ruler, are almost fixed in their respective regions. Peyz has moved to JDG this year, taking Ruler’s place, but Peyz is struggling and may not even secure a spot for the upcoming World Championship.

Ruler Sets New Goals Post-MSI 2025, a Dream for Chovy
In a post-match interview, Ruler set his sights on winning the World Championship. In fact, this is also the desire of Gen.G fans and the player Chovy himself. His career is nearly complete, and the World Championship trophy has been a long-standing aspiration for Chovy since the start of his career.

However, it will certainly be difficult to predict anything when T1 has shown their strength, and Gen.G defeated T1 by playing better in the most crucial moments. Not to mention, not only T1 but other powerful teams in League of Legends are also ready to defeat Gen.G whenever the opportunity arises. Therefore, the World Championship will be a challenging arena for both Ruler and Gen.G, even though they are now the MSI champions.
