In recent years, Faker has been an extremely famous name in the League of Legends and esports scene. Many people, even those who are not too interested in League of Legends, know about Faker and the impact this player has had. With his 4th World Championship title now won, the fame of the “Demon King” has grown even larger and is known by many.

This has made even the smallest actions of Faker followed by many players. Recently, at the VCT Game Changers Championship 2023 (the women’s VALORANT World Championship), a player made a strong impression by “cosplaying” Faker. Specifically, female player Clem from EDG recreated the “dive” gesture that Faker had performed in the past to “bring luck”.

In a post-match interview, female player Clem shared: “The idea of diving when entering the stage comes from Faker himself. He is an extremely large icon in the esports community. I really wanted to show my respect to Faker when stepping onto the stage.”

Although she recreated Faker’s entrance quite well, Clem and her teammates at EDG seemed to lack luck. Specifically, in their very first match at the VCT Game Changers Championship 2023, EDG faced a very strong team, Shopify Rebellion. This team is the current runner-up of the tournament, so Clem’s EDG had to suffer a swift defeat of 0-2.
In fact, in both losing rounds, EDG could not even reach 5 rounds as they were completely overpowered by their opponents. This is truly a heavy defeat for EDG’s women’s team, and they need to quickly regain their spirit if they do not want to be eliminated early. Clem and her teammates still have another chance in the losers’ bracket, and they will face KRU Blaze in the next match.

One of the very admirable points about Faker is his spirit of always striving to improve himself. Perhaps Clem and EDG’s female VALORANT team should also learn this to find a way to overcome their recent defeat.
