Winning a World Championship (WC) has never been easy for any team in the LoL scene, no matter how powerful they are. This is evident as we witnessed an SKT T1 that seemed “invincible” fall to Samsung Galaxy in 2017. Or a formidable T1 losing to their “point bank” DRX in the LCK in 2022. In professional LoL, especially in tournaments as significant as the WC, sometimes just one wrong decision or a “god-like” moment can completely change a team’s fate.

However, this is why winning a WC becomes even more meaningful. Not to mention, the recent WC 2023 witnessed one of the most thrilling journeys in LoL history. From a T1 without Faker and losing even to the weakest opponents in the tournament, the team welcomed their captain back and surged straight to the WC 2023 championship. The setbacks they faced, particularly the two losses to Gen.G, may have made their journey less than 100% perfect, but that was not enough to overshadow T1’s great victory.

However, player Keria is probably making the LoL community, especially T1 fans, feel both sympathetic and amused. The reason is that he had no chance to use the champion Lux – a champion for which Keria was very hopeful that there would be a WC skin if T1 won. Throughout their WC 2023 journey, T1 experimented with many “strange” champions, and Keria intentionally saved Lux for the finals. But he didn’t expect that Weibo Gaming would hold Blue side for all three games and… lose all three games swiftly.

It goes without saying how disappointed Keria must be. A champion that doesn’t play in any match during the WC will not get a skin. In fact, the “sadness” of the 2002-born Support even spread to the audience. Recently, many viewers have set a goal for T1: to win the 2024 WC so that Keria can have the chance to use Lux and get a T1 Lux skin next year. For those who may not know, according to some leaks, Keria, not getting Lux, suggested Gumayusi make a Xayah – Rakan skin duo, but Gumayusi chose Jinx instead.

It’s truly a pity for Keria that WBG turned out to be significantly weaker than what the T1 players imagined. But perhaps, missing out on the Lux skin will drive Keria even more to contribute, helping T1 complete the “Golden Road” next year for a real chance at owning the WC Lux skin.
