If we were to mention one of the most regrettable players in the Vietnamese League of Legends community, many would undoubtedly think of EGO. Previously, EGO was considered one of the best junglers in the VCS since Levi’s time. He was also Levi’s nemesis, having defeated the captain of GAM whenever they faced off. Additionally, EGO idolized SofM, and several VCS fans believed EGO could become SofM’s “successor” someday.

But all of that has dissipated since the drama with Zeros. At this point, when mentioning EGO, people can only sigh in regret for a player with “great talent but many flaws.” While he has faced some mental health issues, that is not enough to justify the bad habits EGO has fallen into. It can be said that EGO’s situation is a severe case of “self-destruction” for this player, and the media along with the VCS audience have simply shut the door on him.

Recently, EGO posted a letter of regret on a major forum in the Vietnamese League of Legends community. In the very first sentence, he expressed his regret about becoming a League of Legends player. He then offered advice to those considering a path in professional esports: “If you are not skilled, if you do not try your best, if you are not number one, you are nobody! And if you were number one but cannot keep your words, your ego, and live a fake life both online and offline, you will eventually face problems.” It can be said that this segment reflects his own experiences after all the drama he has faced.

Notably, EGO also mentioned the “truth behind social media” regarding League of Legends while asserting that he “will return next year and in the years to come.” However, in response to EGO’s sharing, the majority of the VCS audience expressed their disappointment. Many even believe that EGO was not truly calm when writing this letter, citing numerous spelling errors and unclear writing.

Once a renowned player, EGO has now lost everything through his own actions. Perhaps this player can only lament that what he has lost is not just a career, but also the hopes and trust of the VCS fans.
