As we know, in LCK Spring 2024, T1 is definitely the team to be rated the highest. Compared to the other four major teams including Gen.G, Dplus KIA, KT Rolster, and Hanwha Life Esports, T1 has not made any roster changes. This is similar to Spring 2022 when T1 maintained almost the same lineup from Worlds 2021 and established an unprecedented unbeaten record in the history of LCK as well as LoL. This year, T1 has not made any changes, making their strength even more concerning.

For this reason, during the recent Media Day of LCK ahead of the new 2024 season, all teams (except T1) voted that Faker and his teammates would be the new champions of LCK Spring 2024. This is entirely feasible, especially given that their arch-rival Gen.G has parted ways with almost their entire lineup. Not to mention, the current version of the players is even better than in Spring 2022. Therefore, it is predictable that teams would vote for T1 to potentially become champions.

However, for Gen.G’s coach, the ultimate goal of the team in LCK Spring 2024 is not just to win the championship. Specifically, Coach Kim stated: “T1 is a strong team, so before thinking about anything else, our goal is to defeat T1. Even in practice, I only think about T1.” For those who may not know, Coach Kim once led Faker during his time at T1. Although he had some conflicts with Faker at that time, he has continued to praise his former student after leaving T1. The fundamental conflicts arose because Coach Kim is known for being overly strict.

In the new season, he will lead Gen.G – a very strong team, although currently, the team’s competitiveness needs to be reassessed. However, with core players like Chovy and Peyz still remaining after the transfer window, along with talents like Canyon and Kiin, Gen.G’s title competitiveness is still valid, and T1 certainly cannot underestimate their arch-rival.
