GAM suffered a disappointing defeat against CFO, with the team admitting to elements of “self-sabotage”
Recently, GAM kicked off their Phase 2 in the LCP with a tense match against the currently strongest representative in the APAC region – CFO. It can be said that facing CFO is a tough challenge for any team. Even powerful teams worldwide like BLG or T1 have faced difficulties against this APAC representative. However, GAM played evenly with CFO and even came close to winning at one point. But in the end, GAM lost, and the team admitted to having “self-sabotaged”.

Accordingly, Aress – the player who surprisingly missed the match despite having an acceptable performance at EWC 2025 – admitted that the team “threw the game” in Game 2, the pivotal match, as GAM was leading after the first game ended.
Aress stated: “In the second game, GAM threw the game quite a lot, despite having a significant advantage from the start, which inadvertently affected the third game. From an outsider’s perspective, it’s clear that the team had many regrets. Playing in an uncomfortable mindset in the third game leading to the loss is perhaps not too surprising.”

GAM has a real chance to compete for one of the three spots at the World Championship
With what has been shown, it is clear that GAM can compete evenly with the powerful CFO. However, GAM’s players still made critical mistakes. Notably, individual mistakes continuously appeared from each player, and impatience was evident even when holding advantages.

The tournament has entered a crucial phase that will determine the ticket to the World Championship as well as compete for the regional title at the end of 2025. If GAM can overcome these shortcomings, they can definitely think about victory when facing CFO, especially when the players from PCS are also showing certain inconsistencies.
