Perhaps those who regularly follow the VCS, especially GAM Esports, know that one of the most common “specialties” of this team is turret diving. In their matches, GAM always seeks to set up turret dives at appropriate moments, thus gaining an advantage during the laning phase. Later on, there were times when this playstyle was countered, causing GAM some difficulties. However, when Levi is in top form, his gank situations always lead to turret dives where victory belongs to the yellow and black team.

Recently, to honor one of the specialties of the VCS, which has an impressive international record led by Levi, Riot created a video clip to analyze the gameplay of the GAM captain. In the clip, Riot focuses on analyzing Levi’s ability to calculate the benefits from turret dives before he decides to gank. Next, it discusses how Levi carefully calculates the cooldown of his skills, the damage output of himself and his teammates, and the summoner spells of the opponents in case of counter ganks… According to Riot, Levi is one of the players “with the most daring turret diving gameplay that the audience has ever witnessed.”
In fact, even the community recognizes that turret diving in a match can bring many benefits if successful and vice versa. GAM’s gameplay is bold, full of surprises but also fraught with risks. As mentioned in Riot’s clip: “In professional play, players can accurately calculate the jungle’s ‘farm’ timing to ensure timely counter plays. A failed gank from the jungle in ranked is bad, but in professional play, it can be much worse.”

Additionally, many viewers also spotted a very humorous detail. Specifically, in the English version of the caption accompanying the video, Riot mistakenly identified Levi as Mikyx. There are opinions suggesting that Riot’s media team may have mixed things up while uploading the videos. Because right next to the video about Levi’s turret dives, there is another clip about the unpredictable gameplay of G2 Esports’ support. However, the information in the Vietnamese caption remains accurate as usual.

In the future, GAM will continue to frequently execute turret dives, especially on the top lane where Kiaya holds sway. Levi remains the commander of this playstyle, and GAM’s turret dives are now calculated much more carefully than before. Nevertheless, GAM has likely studied several backup strategies to adapt to the meta and avoid being “read” by opponents, especially when facing prominent names in the international League of Legends scene.
