The opponent OKSavingsBank BRION certainly could not match T1, especially when Faker and his teammates were still “testing champions” yet displayed a surprising focus and seriousness. Notably, in game 1, the bottom lane duo Gumayusi – Lux brought out a very familiar combination in rank but rarely seen in League of Legends professional play: Caitlyn – Lux. This duo is considered to have extremely strong long-range damage and possesses absolute crowd control skills. Moreover, both Caitlyn and Lux are champions that Gumayusi and Keria are quite fond of.

In fact, both games did not deviate from the expectations of the League of Legends community. OKBRO has young players with very good skills. However, that was only enough to create highlights; it did not cause T1 any concern. In fact, T1 even played somewhat “chill” in both games and still won convincingly. Keria achieved POG for the first game with his “damage-carrying” Lux performance. This can be considered one of the most effective bot duos that T1 has experimented with in LCK Spring 2024 so far.

However, the performance of Faker and his teammates, especially the bot duo Gumayusi – Keria, made LCK fans somewhat “worried.” Specifically, renowned commentator Caedrel joked, “Gumayusi – Keria took down the entire bottom lane turret after 7 minutes. Then, they took down the top lane turret in just 10 minutes and led by 4k gold compared to the opposing lane. They chose Caitlyn – Lux to welcome OKBRO’s bottom lane – who are rookies and today is their debut day. Imagine being a rookie, playing against Gumayusi – Keria, they choose Cait – Lux and do that to you?”.

But perhaps, these are just jokes, and T1’s victory is the most important. Moreover, the experience of competing against a world-class team that plays seriously and respects their opponents is the most valuable experience for young players.

In the match against OKBRO, Faker also reached the milestone of 3000 kills in the LCK alone. The easy victory over OKBRO will help T1 at least maintain the second position in the standings before the Lunar New Year break and keep pace with Gen.G.
