Since their defeat against Gen.G on the opening day of LCK Spring 2024, T1 has won all remaining matches and is currently sitting comfortably at the top of the tournament standings. This is a predictable outcome, especially after Gen.G stumbled right after returning from the Lunar New Year break. With a balanced roster, T1 might even be stronger than they were during the LCK Spring 2023 season. However, despite their impressive performance, both players and fans need to keep their feet on the ground, especially since the tournament is still quite long.

Throughout their journey from the beginning of LCK Spring 2024 to now, all T1 players have performed very well. Notably, Keria has been showcasing outstanding form. Especially in a recent match using Ashe against Dplus KIA, Keria even had higher damage and kill counts than Gumayusi and anyone else in the T1 lineup despite playing in the Support position.

However, due to Keria’s exceptional performance, combined with Riot’s gameplay changes making the AD position significantly weaker, Gumayusi has unintentionally received less attention compared to his teammates in T1. Both his fans and the player himself, born in 2002, are aware of this. Nonetheless, Gumayusi remains professionally optimistic.

In a recent stream, Gumayusi shared: “Did T1 finish the game before the AD could do anything? In reality, many fans feel uncomfortable when the AD position is rated a bit lower. But I really don’t care too much about that. After all, there will be big matches coming up, and I will definitely have the chance to shine. As long as I try to do well, that’s what matters. There’s a saying, ‘Stars shine brightest in the darkest skies.'”
Perhaps in the T1 lineup, Gumayusi is one of the most criticized players, especially after the LCK Summer 2023 finals. However, the ADC born in 2002 maintains a calm demeanor and responds with his performances in matches. Nevertheless, many fans hope that in upcoming metas and in T1’s future matches, Gumayusi will have more opportunities to shine even brighter.
