Before the VCS Spring 2024 officially kicks off, there were rumors that two young stars from this region would join the “Blue Dragon” DRX. Of course, even though it’s just a Challengers team, it excites many people as VCS players continue to catch the attention of the LCK, despite the previous case of Tlong completely failing. The identities of the two players were quickly discovered to be LazyFeel and Chika. However, their journeys have been quite different.

While LazyFeel even became the first Vietnamese player to rank Top 1 in Challenger Korea, Chika had a more troubled journey and he just recently reached Challenger. Of course, both players still received a lot of attention from Vietnamese LoL fans, and Chika himself showed that he is truly striving to compete for a position at DRX Challengers. However, in a short time, no one could find Chika’s account anymore, and even the commentator Ling Cao Thủ had to contact the “owner” to clarify.

And the truth revealed by Chika was quite surprising: His account was locked by Riot for using skin mods. Chika then had to use a new ranked Korean account and has now reached Grandmaster. However, the reason Chika gave really made many people feel both sympathy and amusement. Because even professional players also mod skins like everyone else. And Riot also shows that not being a professional player does not exempt one from the publisher’s regulations.

Perhaps everyone knows that Riot always has very strict regulations regarding third-party interventions in the games they publish. Even actions like modding skins (designing skins for champions using code snippets, without using actual skins) are strictly prohibited, even if they do not affect the game. Therefore, Chika’s “mistake” and the resulting penalty from Riot are completely understandable.

As for Chika himself, he probably has a deep lesson learned. When becoming a professional player, he will definitely receive maximum support from Riot. But in return, the publisher will also pay more attention and will be less forgiving of serious violations.
