As previously reported, the TFT season 10 tournament: Remix Rumble for the SEA region (a tournament to determine 2 representatives from this region to participate in the Worlds of TFT) has concluded with the championship going to player Lê Chuyên. Besides Lê Chuyên, who automatically secured a spot in the Worlds, the remaining spot at the global event belonged to player N6M. However, the incident that followed sparked much controversy and debate. In fact, an international player from Tristan claimed there was cheating involved.

Recently, as known, Riot has officially issued a penalty for player N6M, but it was not due to cheating during the Remix Rumble SEA qualifiers. According to the announcement released by Riot, N6M was banned from the tournament for violating the regulations outlined in the Global Code of Conduct issued by Riot. According to player Stillness, it seems N6M violated rules regarding advertising prohibited websites and was also involved in account boosting.

In many forums, the news of N6M being banned by Riot from the Worlds tournament has caused an uproar within the Vietnamese League of Legends and TFT community. Many opinions suggest that while N6M was indeed at fault, the timing of the allegations coinciding with Vietnam securing a tournament spot inadvertently caused the Vietnamese TFT scene to lose an opportunity, which has now been passed on to player Eggy from the SEA region. Furthermore, the incident has led many viewers to have negative perceptions of the individual who reported N6M.

However, there are also opinions suggesting that as a player who has competed in TFT for many years, N6M should be well aware of Riot’s rules. Moreover, not only in TFT or League of Legends, but no esports title allowed in Vietnam permits its players or teams to promote websites with prohibited content. Even internationally, there have been numerous cases where teams had to part ways with million-dollar contracts due to sponsors from sensitive and prohibited fields (like in the case of Team SoloMid).

Therefore, it can be said that the fault lies entirely with N6M for “knowing the law but still breaking it.” It is unfortunate for the Vietnamese TFT scene that N6M’s actions led to a lost opportunity for competing at the Worlds in a rather unjust manner.
