Gen.G Bitterly Falls at Worlds 2025
Entering the match against KT, most League of Legends viewers likely thought that Gen.G would easily secure victory, and that players like Chovy, Kiin, and Duro would make their first appearance in a Worlds final. However, all predictions were completely off as KT played significantly better. In a semifinal match that can only be described as “beyond imagination,” KT defeated Gen.G, and Chovy was the first name to bear responsibility.

Throughout all four games against KT, Chovy’s contributions were extremely minimal. Even in his strongest aspect, laning and farming, he fell far behind Bdd. It’s been a long time since anyone witnessed Chovy being out-farmed by 20 minion scores in the laning phase. Consequently, Chovy’s contributions diminished as well. In fact, in the one game they won, the major contributions came from Kiin first, followed by Ruler.
Compared to Bdd on the opposing side, Chovy’s performance resembled that of an amateur player or a rookie at their first Worlds, facing off against a seasoned veteran. Bdd not only played well but he was truly more composed. Even in Game 1, when KT faced difficulties, Bdd managed to pull the entire game back single-handedly. Meanwhile, Chovy did nothing at all.

Gen.G Lost Because Chovy Lacks the “Heart of a Champion”
In every Worlds season, when a team rises to the top, they not only have talent, experience, and luck, but they also need composure. Even an underdog like DRX in 2022 entered every match with a mindset of having nothing to lose, so there was nothing to fear. But for Gen.G, they had too much to fear, which held back their players.

In the match against KT, it was clear to everyone that the player who truly played with the highest determination was Kiin, and to some extent, Ruler. Meanwhile, the expectations placed on Chovy once again left Gen.G fans feeling disappointed.
