Currently, a series of major and minor tournaments in the League of Legends world have entered the most crucial stage – the playoffs. It can be said that the results of the entire season will only be decided in a few more BO3 and BO5 matches. Among them, the most notable at this time are probably the LPL, LCK, and VCS. The two “giants” are always seen as direct competitors in international arenas. Meanwhile, VCS Spring 2024 is sinking into a negative crisis and people also want to see how legends or former stars will perform when they return to compete.

However, before the tournament starts, a section of LCK fans has created a strength ranking based on Elo for all teams across the regions of the League of Legends world. Notably in this ranking, T1 is ranked behind Gen.G and Bilibili Gaming. Meanwhile, VCS has one representative at rank… 41, which is Team Secret, and the reigning champion GAM Esports is even further down at rank 51. Additionally, the top teams of VCS are ranked behind many names that were once “victims” of VCS in recent tournaments, such as Team Liquid or CBTC Flying Oyster. GAM is even ranked lower than the fourth place team of PCS.

The post has also angered many LPL viewers, even though there are 6 teams from LPL in the top 10. The reason is, despite having a large number of teams, only BLG and TES are in the top 5, while the other 3 spots are occupied by LCK teams. Furthermore, many were shocked to see T1, who just won the World Championship, ranked below their own conqueror – BLG. Notably, BLG may not even be as strong as BLG in 2023.

Meanwhile, the evaluation of VCS seems to be a bit one-sided as PCS has never truly surpassed the highest-level League of Legends tournament in Vietnam. In the recent participation in Worlds 2023, none of the PCS representatives made it past the Play-In stage. Moreover, CFO was even upset by Team Whales in their first Worlds appearance. Clearly, ranking above VCS by a significant margin (CFO at rank 34, TS at rank 41) is not really accurate.

Of course, this ranking is based on Elo criteria, so both VCS and LCK teams are at a slight disadvantage as their playoffs have not yet occurred, or the number of matches in LPL exceeds that of LCK. And therefore, this ranking may only serve as a reference and cannot accurately assess the current status of the teams.
