Recently, on the day of the playoffs VCS Spring 2024 officially returned, the audience was incredibly excited as there had been news of several teams adding legends or former players to their rosters. Although it was just a “stopgap” measure, it made the tournament even more exciting. Especially the matchups between SofM – Levi or possibly Levi – Optimus,… were highly anticipated. In their match, SofM’s Vikings Esports achieved a significant victory over GAM Esports, bringing them closer to the VCS Spring 2024 title.

However, the other match recorded a network connection issue, causing a delay of over 4 hours right from game 1 between Team Whales and Team Secret. Since the match between VKE – GAM ended quite early, the TW – TS match was supposed to proceed on time. However, the connection issue left players, fans, and even tournament organizers extremely exhausted. In fact, Taki even fell asleep in the waiting room.

On the very first day of the VCS Spring 2024 playoffs returning after the negative allegations were revealed, the tournament faced issues that left the audience very frustrated. Notably, the issue occurred in multiple waves, and before the final issue occurred, TS was leading TW by about 10k gold with many advantages. On various forums, what fans were most curious about was how the VCS organizers would resolve this situation when TS had so many advantages and could not be forced to replay game 1.

Many fans were also extremely disappointed as VCS faced too many problems. Not only from match-fixing allegations but also from the very organization of the tournament. Under the post announcing the issue from the VCS organizers, many fans questioned why issues continuously occurred in VCS matches. The last occurrence of an issue was also in a match involving TS. Some fans even suspected that TS was being treated unfairly.

But if what Yoshino revealed is true, then this is a common situation and beyond VCS’s control. Perhaps for now, fans should just hope that the issues are resolved and that the teams can overcome this phase and complete the tumultuous Spring 2024 season in the best possible way.
