As we know, after winning the World Championship, the members of the victorious team can choose a skin designed specifically with the theme of World Championship to honor their achievements. Of course, for a player, there will be many options, and they must consider carefully to avoid skins that do not meet sales expectations, which would also affect their income. Therefore, when the 2023 World Championship ended, people were particularly interested in which champion Faker would choose. With his use of Ahri in the finals, many thought Faker would select the fox girl for his World Championship skin.

But as we know, afterwards, Faker announced that he would choose Orianna for his World Championship skin, meaning Ahri would continue to be absent from the list of champions receiving this honored skin, even though Ahri has always been regarded as the “darling” and an icon of League of Legends. However, shortly after T1’s World Championship victory, Riot announced the Hall of Fame project to honor legends in the League of Legends community. At this point, many believe that Faker may not have chosen Ahri partly because he intends to reserve this champion for a Hall of Fame skin.

Recently, a popular YouTuber revealed more information about this skin line. According to him: “The Ahri Hall of Fame skin will be the first product in the tribute skin line of Riot’s Hall of Fame. The skin will feature two primary colors, red and gold, with design shades leaning towards ‘Glorious’. At the same time, this skin will be heavily invested in, so it will be very, very expensive. It is unclear whether Riot will categorize this skin as Legendary or as part of an entirely new line, but be prepared to spend a lot of money if you want to own it.”
The revelation from the male YouTuber actually excites many gamers but also brings a lot of concern. Currently, the most expensive skins in League of Legends are the Ultimate skins (2775 – 3250 RP). If this is a completely new skin line or even just categorized as Legendary, combining the significance of the skin with its rarity, the amount of RP that players need to own it could reach an “unimaginable” level.

However, this will actually put pressure on Riot itself, as they must invest significantly in the Hall of Fame skin lines if they want good revenue. Not to mention, there is also the expectation from the audience regarding the significance of these skins. But after all, this is still just preliminary information, and perhaps after MSI 2024 concludes, Riot will have announcements about the World Championship skins for T1 as well as the upcoming Hall of Fame skin line.
