At this moment, most of the teams participating in MSI 2024 have probably gathered in Chengdu, preparing for the upcoming fierce battles. As always, T1 is the team that attracts the most attention. Simply because they are the reigning champions of the 2023 World Championship. Moreover, T1 always competes internationally with a very unique style and will still be a title contender. Finally, T1 boasts Faker – a player that perhaps no one in the esports community, especially within League of Legends, doesn’t know.

Therefore, wherever T1 goes can turn into a mini “fan meeting” for Faker. But the reality is that all these players are quite young. The oldest, Faker, is just nearing 28. Consequently, there was a “funny” memory shared by the League of Legends community during the days T1 stars and other teams participated in MSI 2024 in China.

Specifically, a restaurant manager where T1 visited shared: “When the League of Legends players came to Chengdu, they dined at my restaurant. That day I was surprised to receive a call. 12 people were about to come to eat. ‘The customer is king,’ and no one cares about the time, just prepare everything. In the end, I was kind of taken aback. It was a bunch of kids, and the truth is, they are a bunch of kids who play games well.”

Perhaps the restaurant manager is not someone who can spend much time on esports titles or League of Legends. But from the manager’s sharing, it became clear that, in reality, gamers are just young individuals, and hardly anyone has reached the age of 30. The manager’s comments amused the audience, and perhaps many realized that even having reached the pinnacle of glory, to older folks, these players are still just kids.

At MSI 2024, T1’s “kids” will have to strive even harder, after having missed their chance multiple times at this tournament. Not to mention, with a not-so-good performance in the 2024 Spring LCK, T1 needs a title to prove their true strength and regain the trust of fans following their unfortunate defeat in the finals against their arch-rival Gen.G.
