Against an opponent like Team Liquid, many might consider it an easy match for T1. However, in recent encounters, the LCS representatives have proven to be a tough challenge for Faker and his teammates despite their fluctuating performance. TL’s unpredictable playstyle and relentless aggression, particularly from the overly confident APA, have posed significant challenges not only for Faker but also for many other Mid Laners. The EWC 2024 semifinals were no exception, and in fact, T1 found themselves needing to stage a comeback to secure victory.

After TL capitalized on T1’s mistakes and took the lead in game 1, T1 managed to wake up just in time. However, game 3 was still quite challenging for Faker and his team. Fortunately for T1, Oner shone at the right moment with a smooth Baron steal. This not only helped T1 regain their advantage and navigate through a difficult phase but also led to a convincing final victory.

However, for the audience, this performance by Faker and his teammates was truly intense and unnecessarily stressful. Right after T1’s victory, many posts by fans of the team on social media shared a common sentiment: “This victory stressed me out too much; every time I watch T1 play, my heart races.” This remark is entirely valid because even in the second game, when they had a significant lead, T1 still played rather “lethargically,” showing little difference in teamfight engagements.

Nonetheless, a victory is what T1 needed, and they achieved it to reach the EWC 2024 finals. This could very well be T1’s first title of 2024, setting the stage for Faker and his teammates to approach the remainder of the 2024 LCK Summer Split and the upcoming 2024 World Championship with a more relaxed and excited mindset.
