In VCS Summer 2024, with a series of players having been “removed” permanently or temporarily after the major match-fixing scandal, teams are forced to make urgent reinforcements. This is seen as an opportunity for young talents from the next generation to “step into the spotlight.” Additionally, some teams like Team Whales have the support of veterans like Optimus or CEBERUS Esports with Meliodas. However, this is still not enough, and TW is preparing to announce two foreign players from the LCK. Notably, these two names are quite familiar to the VCS audience, they are Dove and Sounda.

While Sounda is still a relatively unfamiliar name, coming from the Gen.G training camp and having only gone through Academy teams, Dove is more well-known. Many may recognize Dove as one of the Mid Laners who has fought in the LCK, LPL, and even LCS. Although his career has had ups and downs, in terms of quality, Dove can fully meet the requirements in the VCS. After all, being trained in the harsh environment of the LCK and LPL will be a significant advantage for the former Mid Laner of KT Rolster.

However, according to many VCS fans, TW bringing in 2 foreign players is a positive development, especially since both players have already shown some talent. However, at this point, VCS Summer 2024 has already gone through almost half of the season. The addition of foreign players at this time could bring the necessary change for TW to have a chance to advance to the playoffs. After the matches in the third week of competition, TW is currently sitting second to last in the standings with 1 win and 4 losses.

In reality, opportunities for TW are still there, and the foreign players will be this team’s “gamble.” No one can be sure if Dove or Sounda will succeed in the VCS, but the arrival of these two players could bring a breath of fresh air and is also expected to help elevate the quality of the tournament in the future, attracting even more foreign players to come.
