Recently, Riot has announced a series of new details about Teamfight Tactics Season 12. Accordingly, the new season is tentatively titled Magic N’ Mayhem. Not only does it bring a new name, but TFT Season 12 is also expected to introduce many mechanisms that will change several familiar elements for players with fresh concepts that may force them to “relearn from scratch.” However, at this very moment, the gaming community is already buzzing with discussions about a Technology Core that is considered one of the most challenging to use in the new season.

This upgrade core is named “Gold Ratio.” When this core appears, players can own a 5 gold 2 star champion with the best items for that champion. However, the condition for the champion to appear when choosing this core is that the player must have 161.8 gold in their account at that time. This means that from the beginning until that point, the player will have an extremely long winning/losing streak, almost not using gold to buy or upgrade champions, and may also need to possess some upgrades that provide gold beforehand.

In reality, this will likely be an interesting upgrade but very difficult to execute. Indeed, if players do not upgrade champions, they will likely not have enough strength to maintain their winning streak, while the more they lose, the higher the health reduction towards the end of the game. Additionally, neglecting upgrades (that could have been) more suitable for the team composition to focus on increasing the amount of gold held may lead inexperienced players to easily fall into traps and pay the price with an immediate loss. Not to mention, the 5 gold champions provided by the mechanism are random, and there’s no guarantee players will always receive champions that fit their team composition.

Therefore, while it may bring powerful champions with the best items possible, it is clear that this is not necessarily a good upgrade for all players. Even if they accumulate enough gold, players might not be particularly keen on this upgrade when the amount of gold held could be enough for them to acquire a 5 gold 3 star champion that fits their team composition.
