Faker Experiments with a “Unique Champion”
With just a few days left, Faker and his teammates will enter a critical phase of the Summer 2024 tournament, which is the playoffs – a stage that will determine the fate of the teams in this 2024 season. With Gen.G already securing a spot in the group stage of the 2024 World Championship, the battle for the remaining three spots will take place among four teams that are not only strong but also very unpredictable, including Hanwha Life Esports, Dplus KIA, T1, and KT Rolster. All four of these names have seen ups and downs, and therefore, until the match is over, anything can happen.

Ahead of the LCK Summer 2024 playoffs, with Riot set to release a completely new patch that differs from the previous group stage, teams will need to prepare thoroughly. Many opinions have suggested that recent patches could be considered a “silent buff” for T1 as Faker and his teammates. However, any complacency will come at a high price, and T1 certainly does not want their playoff journey to end too soon. Recently, many viewers have noticed that Faker is experimenting with a “unique champion” for the Mid Lane, which is Nasus.

But it’s unlikely that Faker will use it officially
In reality, Nasus is a champion that is very difficult to use in the professional arena, and even in solo queue, players are quite wary of this champion. Nasus has a skill set that is too sluggish, lacks mobility, has a short attack range, and is not even as tanky as some current Fighters (K’Sante, Skarner…). Moreover, to make Nasus truly strong, it requires a lot of items and time. In fact, if it weren’t for some “innovative” players bringing Nasus into play during the recent LCK Summer 2024 group stage, Nasus would likely continue to slumber in the oblivion of professional League of Legends as it is completely unsuitable for any meta.

Therefore, this may just be Faker’s moments of fun in solo queue. Furthermore, champions that suit Faker better, such as Azir or Orianna, have received buffs, and the chance of Faker taking Nasus mid is almost a scenario that will never happen, at least in the important matches ahead.
