Ryze – Enchanter Becomes the “Beneficiary” in TFT Season 12
In the recently updated 14.16b patch, Riot Games has imposed heavy nerfs on reroll compositions in TFT Season 12. Notably, Nilah and Ahri have had their damage stats reduced, and the “Hero Augments” for Lillia and Rumble have also received significant nerfs. This has inadvertently allowed the Ryze – Enchanter composition to rise powerfully, enabling players to rank up extremely quickly.

The main reason for this is that the Enchanter composition is extremely weak in the mid-game when it hasn’t reached the required levels and activated the high thresholds. Even if you activate 6 Enchanters early, the damage output of this composition will still be extremely low due to a lack of levels and system activations. The heavy nerfs to reroll compositions have made it “easier” for the Enchanter setup to survive in the mid-game, allowing players to conserve health and gold while aiming for levels 8 or 9.
Building the Ryze – Enchanter Composition in TFT Season 12
In the early game, players should aim to activate the 3 Enchanter threshold as soon as possible with cheap units like Jayce, Zoe, Galio, or Kassadin. Additionally, players can include Blitzcrank (activating the Vanguard trait) or Elise (activating the Shapeshifter trait) to enhance frontline durability. These are all low-cost but high-quality units that play a crucial role in helping players maintain health effectively.

In the mid-game, the goal remains to maintain health and level up steadily, so players need to focus on building the strongest possible composition. Therefore, thresholds like 2 Vanguard, 2 Vanguard… should also be prioritized with quality 3-cost units. Additionally, players should select a strong backline carry champion at 2 stars to hold items for Ryze. Possible choices could include Ahri, Veigar, or even Hwei.

After reaching level 8, players will use their gold to search for important 4-cost units like Ryze and Taric. If lucky and able to upgrade them early, players might even consider reaching level 9 to enhance the composition with higher quality 4-5 gold champions. Names like Nami, Tahm Kench, or Aurora are great options to aim for in the late game.

Tips for Building the Ryze – Enchanter Composition
When selecting Augments or Tech Items, players should always prioritize upgrades that provide Gold Shovel or Enchanter Mark. This will open up opportunities to achieve the incredibly powerful 8 Enchanter threshold in the late game. Additionally, when building items for Ryze, players should prioritize Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Spear of Shojin to ensure this unit regains energy and deals damage most effectively. Moreover, upgrades and Augments that increase attack speed or reduce magic resistance are also very suitable for this composition.
