Levi shares about GAM’s journey at Worlds 2024
Currently, according to updates from GAM Esports and the fans of this team, Levi and his teammates have landed back in Vietnam after their time competing at Worlds 2024. In this year’s tournament, calling GAM successful in terms of achievement wouldn’t be entirely accurate, as they exited with a total score of 1-3, eliminating one representative from the West before leaving the tournament, which is not much different from last year. However, considering that VCS has gone through a tumultuous year, GAM’s performance is commendable due to the players’ efforts.

In a recent stream, Levi also shared about GAM’s defeat that moved the audience. The captain of GAM took full responsibility for the loss against Team Liquid: “If you want to blame someone for not banning Neeko, blame Levi. Because Levi doesn’t know how to play Skarner and caused the team to lose a ban. We thought Skarner would be very annoying, but I can’t play him. Ziggs and Kai’Sa should have been banned. If I could play Skarner, we wouldn’t have lost a ban.”

Levi also candidly assesses the future of VCS at Worlds
Being a player who has been with VCS since the early days, Levi understands the strengths, weaknesses, limitations, and advantages of the region. The legendary captain of GAM also admits a “bitter truth” about League of Legends in Vietnam: “When going to Worlds, the goal must be top 8, but to be honest, that goal is very difficult. Because to reach top 8, you must beat teams from LPL and LCK.”

In reality, this is something that perhaps every VCS fan understands, but of course, when the representative team from the home region competes, there must be faith. GAM itself has shown progress year by year, and in 2025, VCS representatives will be able to compete with international opponents right from the APAC tournament – an opportunity that is better than ever to hone skills, experience, and international competition mentality.

GAM or any VCS representative will need to put in more effort next year. Not only to maintain a spot in the APAC tournament but also for VCS to truly break through, surpassing the “just making an impression” level as it currently stands in international tournaments like MSI or Worlds.
