Chovy is Eagerly Looking Forward to the World Championship Title
Since his professional debut, Chovy has always been regarded as one of the best Mid Laners in professional League of Legends. Over time, his skills, mindset, and experience have only improved. However, after winning every title, including being the champion of MSI two consecutive times in a fiercely competitive LPL environment, one factor has always eluded Chovy: the World Championship title.
Recently, in an interview following the conclusion of the LCK 2025 Rounds 3-5 group stage, Chovy shared that for him, the World Championship title is more important than anything else: “I have never thought that winning the World Championship would grant me a skin, that I would aim for a skin as a goal. I would be fine without a skin, as long as I win the World Championship.”

Among the current stars of Gen.G, Chovy is perhaps the most eager for the 2025 World Championship
Throughout his career, there have been three consecutive seasons where Chovy was viewed as the most promising candidate for the World Championship title. In other seasons, he was seen as a “prodigy” (when debuting with GRF in 2019) or a “golden spine”. Chovy’s talent is undeniable, but the composure needed for him to clutch (shine in crucial moments) has been noticeably absent whenever he reaches the World Championship stage.

Over time, Chovy has also fought through many teams. Since joining Gen.G, he has always been surrounded by top-tier players at various times. Yet, Chovy’s highest achievement remains just a single semi-final appearance (in 2024), where he fell short against the same opponent that his Gen.G team had defeated time and again – T1.

Chovy may not be very young anymore, but at least currently, he has a new, more complete team than last year and has dominated two major mid-season tournaments. If he can finally quench his “thirst” for the World Championship title this time, perhaps Chovy’s career could be considered perfect.
