Famous Stars Set to Return to the LCK Tournament
In the recent 2024 season, the LPL tournament saw a significant drop in viewership. This inadvertently put many teams in the LPL in a difficult financial situation, forcing them to “sell off” players to survive. Even before the 2024 World Championship took place, the former World Champion of 2019 – Doinb revealed that many players from the LPL would be transferring to the LCK or LEC for better compensation.

And just before the 2024 World Championship finals, a transfer rumor shocked many LPL fans. Reportedly, two superstars of the tournament, Scout and Kanavi, are said to be returning to the LCK to join the KDF team. The key to this deal is coach cvMax, who is very confident that he can bring these two star players back to the LCK and join his KDF team.

KDF Set to “Transform” in the Upcoming LCK Season
For the past two years, KDF has often been considered a “minor” team compared to big names like T1, Gen.G, KT, and DK. Their goal has usually been to aim for the 6th position in the LCK group stage to have a chance to play in the playoffs, but they have only achieved this target once in the past two years. Notably, in the LCK Summer 2023, KDF even finished at the bottom of the standings with a record of 4 wins and 14 losses.

However, if they acquire Scout and Kanavi as rumored, KDF will undergo a significant transformation. It’s important to note that KDF has had a considerable weakness in the jungle and mid-lane positions in recent seasons. Players like Cuzz and Bulldog have not shown the necessary stability to help KDF perform better or at least maintain a top 6 position in the LCK.
Meanwhile, Kanavi is an exceptional jungler in the LPL known for his diverse playstyle and willingness to use unconventional champions. As for Scout, he has been seen as the carry player for LNG in recent seasons. In terms of both reputation and competitive spirit, Kanavi and Scout are clearly superior to the current players KDF has. Therefore, it would not be an exaggeration to say that KDF could “transform” if they truly recruit these two players.

Of course, the information regarding KDF’s recruitment of the two former World Champions (Scout) and MSI (Kanavi) remains at the rumor stage. The transfer market is still volatile, and fans cannot confirm that KDF will secure this superstar duo. However, if this information becomes a reality, KDF will undoubtedly be a team to watch in the upcoming season as they could compete for a top 4 position, and even contend for the championship in the LCK.
